Bear Kids unveils new website and a better web store 18 August 2016

After many trials and tribulations with our last website and the content management system from Hell, we have decided to leave it for dead and start anew. Enter this new, simple, clean, and fast upgraded version.

We are now including selling digital downloads direct from our store, which works much like Bandcamp in that you are able to select any format you want, e.g. mp3, FLAC, etc. This is an excellent alternative to iTunes, Amazon, and Google and we (the label and the artists) get a much more favorable portion of your purchase when ordering this way. We are certainly not abandoning our worldwide digital distribution to those retailers or any streaming services, but we are happy to be able to offer direct downloads without the need for a middle man outside of this new CMS.

We are also now providing instant digital downloads when purchasing a physical product, eliminating the need for download cards, and providing instant gratification upon ordering. Moving forward, preorders will normally include one or more instant grat tracks as an incentive for ordering early. And of course, as always, all physical release purchases come with an included digital download.

Overall, the new website is much faster, the checkout system is better, and we are able to accept credit card payments directly via Stripe versus Paypal. Paypal is, of course, still an option. There are some drawbacks to this change, the obvious one being that two-plus years of news and blog posts are now gone. But the music remains and that is the most important thing.
