Sometimes you choose change, other times it chooses you. Be it jobs, partners, or positions on a baseball field, change is inevitable. For Rick Ankiel, it meant adapting to stay in the game he loved. Similarly, for Pony League, it meant taking time to refocus and peel back a few layers.
Longtime staples of Atlanta’s indie americana scene, the band released two 7-inches and a full length album as “Cute Boots” before realizing that they were on the cusp of something true to themselves, but falling just short. After taking some time to double down on their craft, the band is back with a vengeance and a much stronger sense of identity.
